As a first-generation member of the Osogbo Art School, Oyelami draws from Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage, weaving traditional Yoruba motifs with modernist abstraction. On the other hand, Ayoola Gbolahan navigates the complexities of history through the lenses of human archaeology and spirituality. His practice delves into pivotal historical moments and the unseen forces that shape human consciousness. Through his work, Gbolahan grapples with the knots of history—those moments where social dynamics, power structures, and spiritual experiences converge, leaving marks on the present.
